So the outcome was not what I had hopped for but it was a good game and anytime you get to watch the Yankees, it's a great day!!!
Let me tell you all who may not know this, But God does have a sense of Humor!
I have waited a long time for the Yankees to come to Denver. I paid the outrageous price of $45 for the same seats I watch the San Francisco Giants in for $8. I sat in an hour worth of bummer to bummer traffic to get to the stadium. I enjoy watching the Yankees in batting practice, yelling Happy Birthday to Derek Jeter (and I believe he heard me!) The sun was HOT. The crowd was huge - and by the way I thought I was in the BRONX!! Where did all these Yankee Fans come from?? Anyway, I get a hot dog and a lemonade (remind me to take a 2nd mortgage to pay for it) I go to my seat and I am sitting next to a true blue(ok maybe red) red sox fan with da bean town accent and everything(how do ya like dem apples?) Forgive me Father, have I sinned THAT MUCH??????? Geez!! Well you know me I am nice and I listen to him and exchange polite baseball conversation till..................I couldn't take it any more. So I did the ultimate "How to shut up a bosox fan" thing. I turned to him and said, " So how about that Bucky Dent?"
After he mopped up his beer that he spilled on his 04 world series shirt, he said "Uncle" It was great, and to solidify my upper hand, I threw in a Bill Buckner and we were friends for the rest of the game. Ya gotta love baseball history!!
In the top of the 9th, Heideki Matsui hit a foul ball right to me and I caught it, had it in my hand and this kid ripped it from me. Well, my bosox friend and his son went after him to get the ball back but they were stopped by the Rockies staff. Despite my love for the Yankees and his misguided love of the sox, I thought that was a sweet gesture and gave them a hug. Then the pain set in, not because the Yankees were losing and I lost my foul ball, but because I may have a fractured finger a la Matsui! X-rays pending!! Ok sports fans, tomorrow is another day. God , please seat me next to a Yankee fan, or even a Rockie fan will do, but please no bosox fans - Wed nite tickets were $60!!! Amen

Glad that you had such a good time at the game. Sorry you had to sit by the bosox fan, but it all came out ok since he did try to chase the ball stealing theif for you!
